Happening on Tuesday, in Ottawa, Prime Minister Mark Carney (Nepean, Ont.) will convene a hybrid cabinet meeting to discuss ongoing trade negotiations between Canada and the United States ahead of the Aug. 1 tariff deadline.
In Halifax, N.S., Minister of Industry and Quebec Economic Development Mélanie Joly (Ahuntsic-Cartierville, Que.) will speak at a working lunch hosted by Canada’s Ocean Supercluster, a federally supported innovation hub for ocean industries.
And in Montreal, Que., Bloc Québécois Leader Yves-François Blanchet (Beloeil-Chambly, Que.) will attend the national ceremony in tribute to singer Serge Fiori at Place des Arts, Wilfrid-Pelletier Room, 175 Sainte-Catherine St. W.

The Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment (CCME) will meet to discuss a range of issues, including air quality, and the relationship between contaminated sites, climate change and reconciliation. Minister of Finance and National Revenue François-Philippe Champagne (Saint-Maurice–Champlain, Que.) will participate in the G20 and G7 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors' (FMCBG) Meetings, in Durban, South Africa, from July 17 to 18. The minister, together with Bank of Canada Governor Tiff Macklem, will chair the fourth G7 FMCBG Meeting under Canada's G7 presidency. Prior to the meetings, the minister will meet with local businesses and government officials to advance bilateral partnerships, economic development and innovation collaboration.
