Governor General Julie Payette will visit Jerusalem from Jan. 22-24 to attend the Fifth World Holocaust Forum, marking the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau. During this visit, she will meet with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin and attend a dinner for visiting heads of State and government representatives. International Trade Diversification Minister Jim Carr (Winnipeg South Centre, Man.) will visit Tel Aviv, Haifa, Jerusalem and Ramallah from September 2-6. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (Papineau, Que.) will lead a Canadian delegation to attend the funeral for former Israeli Prime Minister and President, Shimon Peres, in Jerusalem, Israel.
