Foreign Affairs Minister François-Philippe Champagne (Saint-Maurice–Champlain, Que.) will attend the G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Nagoya, Japan, from Nov. 22–23. He will participate in discussions related to free trade and global governance, the Sustainable Development Goals, and support for Africa. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (Papineau, Que.) is expected to join leaders of the G20 in Osaka, Japan, for the G20 summit. Along with the leaders’ summit, the G20 finance ministers and central bank governors’ meeting, the foreign ministers’ meeting, and other ministerial meetings will also be held at eight different locations throughout Japan this year.

Agriculture Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau (Compton-Stanstead, Que.) will participate in the G20 Agriculture Ministers’ Meeting in Niigata, Japan, from May 11-12. Health Minister Jane Philpott (Markham-Stouffville, Ont.) will participate in the G7 Health Ministers’ Meeting. She will be joined by Dr. Gregory Taylor, Canada’s Chief Public Health Officer, and officials from Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (Papineau, Que.) wraps up the final day of G7 meetings by taking part in a number of working sessions and a working lunch. At 6:15 p.m. JST, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (Papineau, Que.) will hold a bilateral meeting with the President of France, François Hollande. The event will be held in Room Hagi, 3rd floor, Shima Kanko Hotel The Classic.

At 1:30 p.m. JST, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (Papineau, Que.) will participate in the G7 Working Luncheon (Session I). At 3:30 p.m. JST, the PM will participate in the G7 Working Session II. At 4:40 p.m. JST, Trudeau will participate in the G7 Working Session III.
