Netmizaaggamig Nishnaabeg will host a Day of Unity and Peaceful Actions to protest Ontario’s Bill 5 and Canada’s Bill C-5. The event will take place at the Pic Mobert Commercial Development Site and Pow Wow Grounds, and will feature guest speakers, cultural presentations, and a public call for justice. Netmizaaggamig Nishnaabeg is holding peaceful demonstrations along Highway 17 this week to protest Ontario’s Bill 5 and federal Bill C-5, which the community says threaten Indigenous rights, land governance, and environmental protections.
