Bill C-22, An Act to reduce poverty and to support the financial security of persons with disabilities by establishing the Canada disability benefit and making a consequential amendment to the Income Tax Act, was debated at third reading and was read a third time.

The Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans presented its seventh report, the subject matter of those elements contained in Subdivisions A, B and C of Division 21 of Part 4 of Bill C-47, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 28, 2023.

The Standing Senate Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs presented its thirteenth report, Bill C-9, An Act to amend the Judges Act, with amendment.

The Senate will resume on Tuesday, May 30, at 2:00 p.m.

Bill S-265, An Act to enact the Federal Ombudsperson for Victims of Crime Act, to amend the Canadian Victims Bill of Rights and to establish a framework for implementing the rights of victims of crime, was introduced and read a first time.
