Through the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP), Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and the PEI Department of Agriculture are investing over $300,000 in the Agriculture Labour Sub-Program. This new program stream will provide farmers and agricultural organizations with access to funding for a variety of initiatives focused on improving the workforce. The full release is available online. The governments of Canada and Saskatchewan announced that applications are now being accepted for the 2025 Agriculture Student Scholarship. The mentee and mentor pairing for the Saskatchewan Next Gen Agriculture Mentorship Program Cohort Six was announced in Regina, Sask. This 18-month experience creates leadership development opportunities for mentees and allows them to increase their involvement in decisions affecting the agriculture industry. The new Indigenous Food Pathways program is supporting new projects, enhancing existing programs and improving Indigenous-led operations in the agriculture and food sector.
