Statistics Canada released figures on wholesale trade for February 2015. Wholesale sales declined for a second consecutive month in February, decreasing 0.4 per cent to $53.6 billion, their lowest level in six months. Statistics Canada released figures on investment in non-residential building construction for the first quarter 2015. Investment in non-residential building construction decreased 1.2 per cent to $12.9 billion in the first quarter, following three consecutive quarters of growth. Statistics Canada release its figures on building permits for February 2015. Canadian municipalities issued building permits worth $6.1 billion in February, edging down 0.9 per cent from the previous month. This was the second consecutive monthly decline. Lower construction intentions in Quebec, Ontario and Alberta were responsible for the decrease at the national level.
