Statistics Canada released figures on Canada’s international transactions in securities for December 2014. Foreign investors reduced their holdings of Canadian securities by $13.5 billion in December, led by sizable divestments in bonds and equities. Statistics Canada released figures on Canadian international merchandise trade for December 2014. Canada’s imports increased by 2.3 per cent in December and exports rose 1.5 per cent.
